A £1.35 million investment from City Hall will fuel over 44 projects through the Wandsworth Arts Fringe (WAF) Grant scheme. The WAF, running from June 6-22, 2025, will be the most ambitious yet, showcasing a distinguishable range of arts and cultural events across the borough.
Councillor Simon Hogg emphasises the transformative power of culture, stating, "We're going to deliver a year to remember – using the power of culture to transform lives, connect people and improve wellbeing." This year will feature a wide array of events, including a mass dance show, a choral feast, and heritage festivals celebrating Black History Month, South Asian History Month, Pride Month, and Windrush Day. The Liberty Festival 2025 will ensure inclusivity by celebrating deaf, disabled, and neurodivergent artists.
As Wandsworth embarks on this extraordinary journey, it's clear that 2025 will be a year to remember. With its rich cultural tapestry and commitment to using art to transform lives, Wandsworth is set to inspire and delight. Second, is the $2,500 People's Choice Award, determined by public votes during a two-month exhibition of the finalists' paintings.
